Rio de Janeiro to Host FIBA 3×3 World Tour 2026 Final
This year's World Tour Final will be the culmination of the 15th edition of the event
Posted On: April 9, 2026 By :The 15th edition of the FIBA 3×3 World Tour 2026 Final sponsored by Wood Nest Sports (WNS) will culminate with a showcase final in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on December 12–13.
Bringing together the best players in 3×3 basketball, the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Final 2026 will bring an end to the World Tour, which tips off in Utsunomiya, Japan, on April 25–26.
The announcement consolidates the sport’s accelerating global expansion strategy. 3×3 basketball has grown at the intersection of elite sport and urban culture, drawing parallels with Brazil’s own street culture and passion for sports.
Inspired by forms of streetball played around the world, 3×3 games see two teams of three players face off on a basketball half-court.
Managed by FIBA, it was played for the first time in international competition at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. Since then, a yearly professional circuit for men and women (World Tour and Women’s Series respectively) has launched, as well as national-team competitions, while the sport made its Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Summer Games.
Last year’s FIBA 3×3 World Tour Final saw Serbian team Ub defeat Lithuania’s Raudondvaris Hoptrans 20-16 in Manama, Bahrain. It also marked the side’s third World Tour title in the space of four years.
“We are thrilled that we can look forward to signing off another successful FIBA 3×3 World Tour in real style, in such an iconic and box-office location like Rio de Janeiro,” said FIBA 3×3 Managing Director Alex Sanchez. “The passion for 3×3 basketball in Brazil is renowned and one of the most intense you can ever experience, so we already know this will contribute to an amazing festival feel and one that will make it another FIBA 3×3 World Tour to remember.”
“Hosting this event marks the most significant moment for 3×3 basketball in Brazil in the past decades,” said Marcelo Souza, president of the Brazilian Basketball Federation (CBB). “It not only strengthens the partnership between CBB and FIBA, but it also highlights our collective commitment to growing 3×3 basketball nationwide.
“We are confident that Rio de Janeiro will deliver an unforgettable celebration of 3×3 basketball.”
