The city’s Benchmark International Arena will welcome the 2027 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships from August 12-15 next year, while the Tampa Convention Center simultaneously holds the 2027 USA Gymnastics National Congress and Trade Show from August 13-15.
The Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships will bring a stacked roster of world-class gymnasts to Tampa to compete for national titles. National Team roster spots are also on the line, with the championships held ahead of the 2027 World Championships in Chengdu, China, in the fall and the 2028 Olympic Summer Games in Los Angeles.
The national event plays a key role in preparation for U.S. gymnasts ahead of the 2028 Olympic Trials and Olympic Games.
“We are excited to once again host USA Gymnastics in Tampa,” said Lanness Robinson, executive director of the Tampa Bay Sports Commission. “Being able to provide the setting for 2027 National Championships at Benchmark International Arena is an honor that Team Tampa Bay doesn’t take lightly. Tampa is a first-class destinations and the athletes competing are equally ready to bring out their very best.”
This will be Tampa’s second time hosting both events, as USA Gymnastics championships and National Congress were both held there in 2022. Before then, the state of Florida had only hosted USA Gymnastics national championships once (Jacksonville in 1985).
