Tulsa to Host Only Teqball Event in U.S. This June
Competition will take place at Titan Sports and Performance Center and in downtown
Posted On: April 5, 2024 By :Tulsa, Oklahoma, will host the only International Teqball Federation-sanctioned event in the United States this year from June 14–16.
“It has been a pleasure to work with the International Teqball Federation to bring this action-packed sport and over 1,000 athletes, staff, and media professionals from 60 different countries to Tulsa,” said Alex Brown, national sports sales manager for the Tulsa Sports Commission. “This global sport is anticipated to bring our region a direct economic impact of over $1.3 million, with a total economic impact estimated at $2.3 million.”
The preliminary stage will be held in Titan Sports and Performance Center, while the final day will be an outdoor tournament in downtown Tulsa for women’s, men’s and mixed doubles competition.
“We are honored to be the only city in the country to host this unique event,” Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum said. “I am thankful to the Tulsa Sports Commission and so many others who are working to make Tulsa the city of choice for premiere sporting events.”
The International Teqball Federation will team with the Tulsa Sports Commission to organize the only tour in the U.S. after last year had the Budapest-based international federation hold six events in Los Angeles and one in Miami.
“The Teqball World Series promises to continue the tradition by providing a platform for economic growth, attracting visitors, and showcasing Tulsa’s capabilities as a premier host city,” said Gabor Borsanyi, president of the International Teqball Federation. “I am sure the locals will enjoy the unique blend of Teqball excitement against the backdrop of Tulsa’s rich cultural heritage.”
