US Speedskating has named Keith Bryant as its new CEO, effective August 1, 2026, succeeding Ted Morris, who led the national governing body for 13 years and ushered in an era of financial and competitive success for the organization.
Bryant is a veteran of the Olympic and Paralympic movement, having attended eight Olympic Games and having worked for the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee for nearly 17 years. He also led USA Judo for more than eight years, overseeing all operations to promote the sport in the United States, growing membership, event participation and revenue.
At the USOPC, Bryant created and administered athlete career, education and life skills programs, launched national Olympic & Paralympic Day initiatives, created and administered the Team USA Ambassador Program, managed community relations, hired the first USOPC archivist, provided oversight to the U.S. Olympians and Paralympians Association, and served as village press officer for four U.S. Olympic Teams.
Years of Experience
During Bryant’s time at USA Judo, the organization migrated to a new membership database, created a new competition management system, and implemented new programs including the Police Professionals and PAL (P3) law enforcement combatives program and the Healthy Judo LA program. USA Judo also launched a PlayLA Program, sponsored by LA2028 and the Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Department (LARAP), where more than 8,000 L.A.-area youth were introduced to judo in 23 LARAP recreation centers. Bryant also led negotiations to partner with the U.S. Performance Center in launching USA Judo’s first National Resident Training Team in Charlotte, North Carolina.
“Being able to join an organization and sport that inspired me to enter the Olympic movement and has played such a large part of my career journey is a dream come true,” said Bryant. “I am grateful to the very accomplished USS Board for this amazing opportunity and want to recognize the great work of my friend, Ted Morris, who has so successfully led the organization for the last 13 years.”
“Our board is confident in Keith Bryant’s ability to take the reins and lead US Speedskating into the future,” said US Speedskating Board President Mike Plant, a 1980 Olympian and CEO of the Atlanta Braves. “He brings the right blend of integrity, vision and passion for Olympic sport that this organization requires.”
USS launched a nationwide search for a new CEO in March after Morris announced his plan to step down. The search was led by the USS board-appointed committee of Board Chair Mark Carleton, Treasurer Rusty Smith, Athlete Representatives Brittany Bowe and Conor McDermott-Mostowy, and BOD members Mike Plant and Deb Wheelock.

US Speedskating won five gold medals at the 2026 Olympic Winter Games, three of them by Jordan Stoltz. The Wisconsin native was one of the top U.S. stars at the Games, finishing first in both the 500 and 1000 meters and taking silver in the 1500. The U.S. men won silver in team pursuit and Mia Kilburg secured the bronze in the women’s mass start event.
