USA Fencing, the national governing body for the Olympic and Paralympic sport of fencing in the United States, has announced a seven-year partnership agreement with AI-powered sports operations company Fastbreak AI.
It means that Fastbreak Travel will serve as the Official Housing Provider for all USA Fencing national competitions, and it will also support housing across regional fencing organization events.
The agreement builds on USA Fencing’s longstanding relationship with GroupHousing, which was acquired by Fastbreak AI earlier this year and is now part of Fastbreak Travel. Fencing families will be able to make use of the same hotel relationships, dedicated support team and negotiated rates they had with GroupHousing, along with new capabilities powered by the Fastbreak AI platform.
For example, booking is now integrated directly into USA Fencing event registration, so competitors can register and book hotels in a single step. A mobile booking experience has also been incorporated to ensure payment flexibility and a guided checkout for families.
Meanwhile, real-time updates will be provided on room block availability, hotel options and stay-to-save pricing across every USA Fencing event, while there will be expanded hotel access through Fastbreak Travel’s broader network across North America.
USA Fencing Events Calendar
USA Fencing currently oversees more than 400 events per year, ranging from the North American Cup series and Summer Nationals to regional qualifying events. The combined scale represents tens of thousands of room nights annually across the United States, with travel often spanning multiple weekends and multiple cities for the same family over the course of a season.
In recent months, the national governing body has announced that it will hold its Summer Nationals in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2027, as well as opening its Maison d’Escrime (French for “house of fencing”) for Team USA athletes, families, guests and more at the Biltmore Los Angeles during the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“Fencing families put in real miles for this sport, driving hours, flying across the country, making it work no matter what it takes,” said USA Fencing CEO Phil Andrews. “Making sure they can find reliable, quality housing close to the venue is one of the most tangible things we can do for them.
“Fastbreak understands that, and we’re glad to be working with a company that’s committed to getting this right for our community.”
“Athletes and their families should be able to register for an event and book their entire experience together, with the trust that comes from one connected platform and pricing they couldn’t get on their own,” Fastbreak AI Co-Founder and CEO John Stewart said. “That’s exactly what we are delivering today, and USA Fencing is exactly the kind of organization driving sports organizations forward. The team there is committed to growing the sport while making the experience better for every athlete that competes. A seven-year agreement only happens when both sides trust each other and see the same future, and that is exactly where we are with USA Fencing.”
Following a year of both organic expansion and strategic acquisitions of group travel businesses (including GroupHousing), Fastbreak Travel now manages hundreds of thousands of annual room nights across tournament directors, sports commissions, national governing bodies and major event operators in North America.
