The Providence/Warwick (Rhode Island) Convention & Visitors Bureau has promoted Bryan Lavin to director of national accounts and Nicholas Millard to creative service coordinator. Lavin had been the organization’s national sales manager since 2007. Millard had worked with the organization as its electronic media assistant.

Sheila Fish has been named assistant director of the Springfield (Missouri) Sports Commission. She worked previously with several nonprofit groups, including Harmony House, the James River Basin Partnership, the Dickerson Park Zoo and the Discovery Center.

The 2013 NCAA Women’s Final Four logo has been unveiled. The event logo features a wrought-iron design that echoes the host New Orleans’ unique architectural style, and the iconic fleur-de-lis, the symbol on the city’s municipal flags. The Final Four is scheduled to be held April 7–9 at New Orleans Arena.

Major League Baseball has appointed Frank Robinson as vice-president of baseball development. Robinson, a Hall of Fame outfielder, most recently served as a special assistant to Commissioner Bud Selig. Robinson succeeds Jimmie Lee Solomon, who had been with MLB since 1991.

David Dubois has been named president of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events, effective in October. Most recently, Dubois served as the president and CEO of the Forth Worth (Texas) Convention & Visitors Bureau, a position he’d held since December of 2006.
