The Collegiate Esports Commissioner’s Cup will return to Esports Stadium Arlington on May 3–5, 2024, with McDonald’s of North Texas as the presenting sponsor.

The event, organized by the Collegiate Sports Management Group, is the largest multi-conference gathering of collegiate esports programs, including 64 teams competing in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Overwatch 2, Rocket League and Valorant. The 2023 event drew 3,000 fans and featured 64 teams from 50 schools from 14 conferences totaling 443 athletes and coaches representing 25 states and Canada.

Hosted at the largest dedicated esports venue in North America, the Commissioner’s Cup will also welcome the year-end tournaments for Vanta, who will crown Texas middle and high school champions. The schedule of events also includes the Collegiate Esports Awards, vendor village, partner activations, esports celebrity meet-and-greets and open amateur LAN tournaments.

“This mega event continues to draw interest from numerous markets across the country,” said Michael Schreck, CSMG chief executive officer. “After evaluating all of our options, we have decided that with the level of support and collaboration we experienced in 2023, along with the continued resources and growth of the Dallas market for sports events, we needed to be back in Texas. We’ve had our sights set on an even bigger and better event in Arlington to welcome the best scholastic competitors and fans from North America.”

Teams have already started punching tickets to Texas. The Midwest Online Regional took place September 23–24, 2023, and the East Regional was held October 27-29, 2023. The South Regional, West Regional, Canadian Regional and Last Chance Qualifier will be held between January and April 2024.

McDonald’s will provide gaming giveaways, on-site activations and digital content. It will also host the private red carpet jersey ceremony to kick off the weekend.

“McDonald’s of North Texas saw great value in CECC last year, both in terms of the level of competition and the passion from the fans,” said David Floyd, owner and operator of McDonald’s of North Texas. “We are excited to continue our partnership this year and look forward to connecting with everyone in attendance and watching online.”
