F1 Drive – London, the first official Formula 1 karting experience, will open its doors February 6 below Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’s South Stand, is part of a 15-year strategic partnership between Formula 1 and Tottenham Hotspur.
F1 Drive – London will include steering wheels with a LED display providing data and updates such as lap times, live race position, intervals, boost level, track safety information and flag status. Tickets will go on sale later this week.
The karting experience is the focal point of a long-term partnership between F1 and Tottenham Hotspur, which will aim to create apprenticeship and career opportunities for young people and bring greater diversity to the motorsport industry, particularly for women and underrepresented groups.
F1 Drive – London is accredited by the National Karting Association and consists of three track layouts that draw inspiration from F1 circuits around the world. The “Future Stars” track is made for younger drivers, while the “Sprint Track” is tailored for racers of all abilities. The in-kart audio features sound effects taken from onboard recordings of the cars of Lewis Hamilton, Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen, commentary from David Croft and Naomi Schiff and live driving tips.
The Mechanics Box activation will allow students to take part in live technological demonstrations and STEM workshops. F1 Drive – London also features the Fan Zone, which includes eight VR5 full-movement racing simulators with the 2023 F1 game. Guests can take part in a Pit Stop Challenge and shop F1 memorabilia. Fans can also pose for selfies in front of an F1 car or take a picture on the podium.
