Greater Ontario: Southern California’s Home for Big Games

Welcome to Greater Ontario — the Gateway to Southern California and one of the region’s fastest-growing sports destinations. Made up of the neighboring cities of Ontario and Rancho Cucamonga, Greater Ontario pairs big-league venues with an unbeatable location, giving event organizers everything they need to host a standout tournament and every athlete and family the full Southern California experience.

Start with the venues. The Ontario Convention Center offers 225,000 square feet of flexible, column-free space that recently transformed into a broadcast arena for the 2026 WTT U.S. Smash — proof it can stage almost any competition or expo. Down the road, Toyota Arena brings 11,000 seats of big-league energy for championships, concerts and marquee events. At ONT Field, a brand-new, aviation-themed ballpark, teams take the diamond and fans cheer on the Ontario Tower Buzzers, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Single-A affiliate. And the 199-acre Ontario Sports Empire, billed as the largest mixed-use sports complex west of the Rockies, adds dozens of fields and diamonds purpose-built for tournament play. The Greater Ontario lineup keeps expanding.

Getting here is easy. Greater Ontario is served by Ontario International Airport (ONT), one of the fastest-growing airports in the country, with direct freeway access placing teams, staff and families minutes from the action. More than 6,700 hotel rooms — from full-service to economy — sit close to the venues, so groups spend less time in transit and more time competing.

Then there’s the setting. Greater Ontario is the Ultimate Point A: a home base where downtown Los Angeles, Southern California’s beaches, Big Bear’s mountains and world-famous theme parks are all about an hour away. Athletes and families get the full SoCal experience — sunshine, adventure and unforgettable side trips — without the big-city price tag. Between games, groups can hike foothill trails, explore historic downtowns and one of California’s oldest wine regions, shop and dine at Ontario Mills and Victoria Gardens or take a swing at Topgolf.

For meeting and event planners, that combination — flexible venues, effortless access, deep hotel inventory and a true Southern California experience — makes hosting simple and memorable. Whether you’re planning a national championship, a regional tournament, a convention or a multisport festival, Greater Ontario scales to fit, backed by a destination marketing team ready to help at every step.

It all adds up to a place where teams and organizers win on and off the field. Come see why Southern California’s biggest events are finding a new home in Greater Ontario.
