Colorado College’s @edrobsonarena opened in October 2021 and is home to the Division I Tigers men’s hockey team. @cctigerathletics hockey games are now played on campus for the first time in the history of the program. The arena accommodates seating for approximately 3,400 attendees and has competition space, seating, locker and restrooms, concessions, storage, in-house TV production capability and administrative space. The arena’s meeting space last week hosted us and many members of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic community during the SportsTravel Road Trip, sponsored by our friends at @gotolouisville and @sportsinlou. We think all sports fans will appreciate the last two photos showing the difference between the home and away locker rooms 😏.

The Sports Events & Tourism Association and SearchWide Global have released the “2023 Sports Destination Leaders Salary, Compensation and Benefits Report,” which sets a new benchmark to study compensation levels for professionals in sports-related travel. The report was led by researchers from Stoll Strategies and sponsored by the Northstar Meetings Group.

The BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament in Indian W

The BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament in Indian Wells, California, broke an attendance record this past weekend when 61,380 people walked through the gates on Saturday. With more than 250,000 people attending the first week of the tournament, turnout is tracking similar to the pre-pandemic records set in 2019. New additions designed to increase spectator flow at the event included free parking and a larger, reconfigured retail space. Also new this year were a pre-tournament family day and food outlets that included Hollywood favorite Pink’s Hot Dogs in the food court and Bistro 88 from Food Network star Jet Tilt overlooking stadium 1. A revamped Eisenhower Cup charity event featured more than a dozen of the world’s top players in a mixed-doubles tie-break format. Here are some scenes from around the grounds during the very busy first week of the tournament, which brings together players, media and spectators from around the world, and runs through March 19.

Located within the boundaries of Wasatch Mountain

Located within the boundaries of Wasatch Mountain State Park and at the edge of the Wasatch Mountains, Soldier Hollow Nordic Center served as the busiest venue during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games and hosted 23 events for biathlon, Nordic combined, and cross-country skiing. The Nordic Center structure features views of the Wasatch Mountains, Heber Valley and the trail systems. The venue is currently hosting FIS Para Nordic World Cup competition with Para Cross-Country and Para Biathlon skiing for athletes with both physical and vision impairment. Disciplines include individual start, sprint, sprint pursuit and mass start. Competition features 65 of the best Para athletes from 18 countries. Competition continues this weekend and through March 8 and is free for spectators.
