Perfect Game Adds Jake Hornbacher to Midwest Team

Perfect Game has hired Jake Hornbacher as its Midwest youth regional director with a primary focus on expanding the company’s tournament footprint in Michigan.

Hornbacher brings more than a decade of experience organizing and managing elite youth baseball events.

“Jake’s experience and track record of growing high-quality youth baseball events make him a tremendous addition to our team,” said Perfect Game CEO Rob Ponger. “His leadership will play a key role as we continue to strengthen our presence and expand opportunities for young athletes throughout the Midwest.”

Hornbacher, a Michigan native, played baseball at St. Clair County Community College in Port Huron in 2013 and 2014 before beginning his career in baseball event management.

 Since 2013, he has helped grow youth baseball across Michigan. He ran USSSA Baseball events throughout the state and, in 2018, became the Michigan State Director. Under his leadership, participation grew, with more than 1,000 teams competing in the Michigan USSSA World Series over the years.

From 2021 to 2023, he moved to the USSSA National Office, where he served as general manager of the $30 million USSSA Space Coast Complex in Viera, Florida. He was later promoted to national director of sports, overseeing a broad portfolio of youth programming across the country.
