USL W League Adds Team in Snohomish County, Washington

Snohomish County, Washington, has been awarded the latest United Soccer League franchise, with Snohomish United set to join the USL W League beginning 2026. The club previously joined USL League Two in 2025.

The club will play its home matches at Stocker Fields in Snohomish as a member of the Northwest Division.

Snohomish United has roots in the mid-1970s with the creation of Snohomish Youth Soccer. Snohomish United was established in 1989 and serves over 1,800 players at various levels. The club’s mission is to perpetuate a high standard of performance in soccer and to develop a love and passion for the sport, regardless of skill level and socioeconomic background.

“Snohomish United is extremely honored, privileged and excited to join the USL W League and provide opportunities and a development pathway for players to advance to professional soccer,” said Scott Uderitz, technical director. “We aim to provide a fun, attractive, and competitive product and game-day experience that best represents the city of Snohomish, Snohomish County, and northern Washington state in order to continue growing the sport in our area.”

Snohomish United is involved in the community, annually hosting tournaments, events and fundraisers, such as the Snohomish Bigfoot Tournament and River’s Edge Brewfest.

The club has seen success developing local talent up to the professional level. Former USL League One players Nathan Aune and Tor Saunders both got their start with the club. By adding a W League team, the club hopes to develop a similar pathway on the women’s side.

“Snohomish United has a proud history of growing the game in Washington, and their expansion into the USL W League builds on that legacy,” said Joel Nash, USL senior vice president of youth and pre-professional properties. “By adding a women’s team, the club is creating new opportunities for players in the region to develop and compete at a high level while continuing to strengthen its deep connection to the local community.”
