The @NHL has approved the sale of the @ArizonaCoyotes to @utahjazz owner Ryan Smith for $1.2 billion, as well as the relocation of the franchise to Salt Lake City starting with the 2024-2025 season.

The @PGA announced today that The Ocean Course at @kiawahresort in Kiawah Island, South Carolina, will host the 2031 @PGAChampionship. Additionally, the 2029 Girls and Boys Junior PGA Championships will be contested at Kiawah Island Golf Resort.

The @FIBA 3x3 season will be collaborating with @KarlLagerfeld with 3×3 players from different teams and countries. It will include a range of events and promotions throughout the season, blending @FIBA3x3 with Karl Lagerfeld’s signature style.

When #breaking makes its Olympics debut in Paris, many sports fans will get their first look at the athleticism put in by the bboys and bgirls that make up the sport. Much of that was on display at the World Breaking Classic organized this past weekend in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by @p7company and supported by the @tulsasportscommission.

The World Breaking Classic USA Qualifier was stage

The World Breaking Classic USA Qualifier was staged at Tulsa’s historic Cain’s Ballroom, organized by @p7company and supported by the @tulsasportscommission. Individuals and teams from around the world competed in 1v1 and 2v2 formats, with the winner of the latter earning a spot in the @worldbreakingclassic finals this summer in Europe. Fans of all ages attended to watch some of the best bboys do their thing. Breaking will make its Olympics debut in Paris this summer.

It is Disney, and one of its flagships is Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Within Walt Disney World, big enough to feel as if you’re in an independent country that is made up of separate little states given its enormous reach and scale, is the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex with 230 acres of facilities hosting thousands of events for athletes. The complex, which opened in 1997, says it has hosted athletes from 70 countries and has welcomed 70 different types of sports since its opening more than a quarter-century ago, half-jokingly asking visitors if they can name that many types of sports. SportsTravel was on location for two golf events over the weekend with competing tours both on the West Coast. The PGA Tour’s traditional Super Bowl weekend stop in Scottsdale, Arizona, is the Waste Management Open, an event that is always the rowdiest of the year with nearly 200,000 fans descending upon TPC Scottsdale on Friday and Saturday for golf and more than little bit of celebrations. Also being held over the weekend right in the heart of the Super Bowl location this year was the LIV Tour event at Las Vegas Country Club, the first time the tour has visited the destination. It was the first of five U.S. stops on the LIV Tour this season, all of which will be competing for attention against PGA Tour stops in different areas of the U.S.

The Houston Sports Awards was created in 2018 by the @hc_hsa to celebrate the local sports community and this year’s event, held for the first time at 713 Music Hall in POST Houston, did not disappoint with a star-studded event honoring this year’s inductees: Lance Berkman of the Astros, Cynthia Cooper of the Comets and Warren Moon of the Oilers. Some of the brightest high school and professional athletes and moments of the year were also recognized, including Texans star rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud. US Speedskating hosted a second consecutive intern

US Speedskating hosted a second consecutive international event in as many weekends as the ISU World Cup was at the Olympic Oval in Kearns with two world records set in three days with just under 5,000 attending. Jordan Stoltz of Wisconsin, all of 19, set a world record in the 1,000 meters on Friday and finished the weekend with four gold medals. A team of Casey Dawson, Emery Lehman and Ethan Cepuran set a world record of 3:33.66 in the men’s team pursuit, besting the world record Norway had recently set. Erin Jackson reigned in the women’s 500 meters and Kimi Goetz finished the weekend with one gold and two silver medals as well. Read more on our home page about the event.
