Haiti has officially selected Stockton University in Galloway, New Jersey, as its team base camp training site during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
It will mark Haiti’s second participation in the FIFA World Cup, having last played in the tournament in 1974 in Germany. It is also the only Caribbean nation to qualify for the competition on two occasions.
Stockton University has a rich pedigree of hosting sports teams during major tournaments. This includes the Saudi Arabian Men’s Soccer Team at the 1994 FIFA World Cup, the Nigerian Men’s Olympic Team from the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Summer Games and Brazilian outfit CR Flamengo at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
It has been confirmed that the Grenadiers will have access to two natural grass outdoor fields at Stockton University, including G. Larry James Stadium and the Sports Center, which features physical therapy facilities and meeting rooms for coaching staff.
“We’re extremely excited, grateful and honored that Stockton University has been selected by the Haiti National Team for their 2026 FIFA World Cup Team Base Camp,” said Jeff Haines, associate director of athletics and recreation at Stockton University.
“Stockton University is honored to be selected as a Team Base Camp for the FIFA World Cup 2026,” said Stockton University President Joe Bertolino. “This recognition affirms the strength of our athletic facilities and the dedication of our staff, who have worked tirelessly to create an environment where the world’s best athletes can train, learn and feel at home.
“We welcome Haiti to our beautiful campus this summer to participate in the largest sporting event in the world.”
Haiti joins Brazil (Columbia Park Training Center in Morris Township), Morocco (Pingry School in Basking Ridge) and Senegal (Rutgers University in New Brunswick) in confirming team base camp training sites in New Jersey for the duration of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“We are thrilled that Brazil, Haiti, Morocco and Senegal have decided to call the Garden State home, bringing the World Cup directly to communities across our state and driving economic activity throughout the region,” said New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill. “Their decision underscores what we know to be true: New Jersey is a premier destination for world-class events and tourism.”
“As one of the most diverse regions in the world, these teams will be welcomed to communities that already know and celebrate them, creating an atmosphere of pride and connection throughout the tournament,” said Alex Lasry, CEO of the New York New Jersey Host Committee. “We look forward to their arrivals, which will drive economic impact and increased tourism, while showcasing the diversity, infrastructure and connectivity that make New York New Jersey ready to host the world.”
The Haitian national team is expected to arrive at Stockton on June 8 before the World Cup gets underway.
They will compete in Group C, beginning in Boston against Scotland on June 13. The team will then head to Philadelphia to face Brazil on June 19, before concluding its group-stage campaign against Morocco in Atlanta on June 24.
