The 2026 Laver Cup, an annual competition between 12 of the best men’s tennis players in the world, will return to London’s O2 Arena for the first time since Roger Federer‘s emotional retirement at the event in 2022 in front of a packed crowd alongside longtime rivals Rafa Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray.

Named in honor of Australian tennis legend Rod Laver, the Laver Cup pits six of the best men’s players from Europe against six of their counterparts from the rest of the World over three days.

“My final match in 2022 was filled with emotion and unforgettable memories – being surrounded by my teammates who were also my greatest rivals – it was everything I could have hoped for,” said Federer. “I’m really looking forward to returning to such a meaningful place, this time as a fan, and experiencing the incredible Laver Cup atmosphere once again.”

This year’s Laver Cup will be in San Francisco for the first time and only the third time in the United States. The first four editions of the Laver Cup were won by Team Europe in Prague (2017), Chicago (2018), Geneva (2019) and Boston (2021). Team World won in London (2022) and in Vancouver (2023) with Team World winning the 2024 Laver Cup in Berlin. Team Europe lead the head-to-head 5-2.

“The O2 is a spectacular venue that combines cutting-edge technology, world-class amenities, and an atmosphere that elevates every match,” said Laver Cup Chief Executive Officer Steve Zacks. “It’s the perfect stage for the drama, intensity and camaraderie that define Laver Cup. London also serves as an ideal hub to welcome fans from across Europe and around the world who want to experience this unique event live. We look forward to delivering another incredible experience for fans, players, partners and the global tennis community.”

The 2026 event will be held from September 25-27, 2026. The O2 was host to the ATP World Tour Finals from 2009 to 2020 as well as the Laver Cup in 2022.

“London is now the undisputed sporting capital of the world and I’m absolutely delighted that the Laver Cup is coming to The O2 next year,” said London Mayor Sadiq Khan. “London was proud to host one of the most successful and memorable editions of the Laver Cup back in 2022 – where the great Roger Federer bought his glittering career to a close – and we look forward to staging another fantastic competition.”
