The Moroccan Men’s National Soccer Team will utilize The Pingry School in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, as its team base camp training site during the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Spanning over 120 hectares, the Pingry School was previously the base camp for Italy during the 1994 FIFA World Cup (hosted solely in the United States). Meanwhile, the likes of Paris St-Germain, AC Milan and Juventus have also trained at the facility for pre-season schedules.
The site, which was fully renovated a year ago around the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, features two FIFA-standard fields and an elite athletics center. It will be Morocco’s base camp for the entirety of their stay at the tournament.
At the same time between training sessions and matches, the team will stay at The Somerset Hills Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, in Warren, just five minutes away from The Pingry School.
Morocco joins Senegal, Brazil and Haiti in confirming their team base camp training sites in New Jersey for this summer’s tournament.
“New Jersey is thrilled to welcome Morocco — and the rest of the world — to our state for the FIFA World Cup 2026,” said New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill. “New Jersey is home to almost 10,000 residents of Moroccan descent, so we are especially honored that Team Morocco has decided to make our state its home away from home this summer. It is a true testament to New Jersey’s exciting role at the center of the World Cup. We look forward to showcasing New Jersey on the global stage this summer and creating memories that will last a lifetime for our residents and visitors.”
The team, coached by Mohamed Ouahbi (only appointed in March), will begin its Group G campaign in New York New Jersey against Brazil on June 13. They will then head to Boston to play Scotland on June 19 before concluding their group stage campaign against Haiti in Atlanta on June 24.
Morocco made history at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar by becoming the first African team to qualify for a semi-final at a Men’s FIFA World Cup, eventually finishing fourth.
