Philip Melton Promoted to General Manager of Montgomery Whitewater Park

Montgomery Whitewater Park promoted Philip Melton to serve as the park’s general manager, having previously served as facilities director, where he guided staff through the park’s first months of operation.

The venue’s grand opening was in July 2023. Montgomery Whitewater Park was selected to host the 2024 Canoe Slalom and Kayak Cross Olympic Team Trials, which drew thousands of visitors to the park April 13–14 and delivered a $1.5 million estimated economic impact for the area.

Originally from Hoover, Alabama, Melton worked at the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte before the opening of Montgomery Whitewater Park.
