Sports Facilities Companies to Operate Crown Sports Center

The Sports Facilities Companies has been selected as the operating partner for the Crown Sports Center and named Cody Revel as general manager of the facility.

The Crown Sports Center is a 125,000-square-foot sports facility in Fruitland, Maryland. The renovated venue includes turf fields, eight pickleball courts and five batting cages in addition to its indoor turf fields, four volleyball courts and two basketball courts. In addition to hosting sporting events, the Crown Sports Center also provides a before and after school program that has around 130 community children and summer day camp that serves about 225 kids per week.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Crown Sports and bringing our expertise in sports facility management to the Eastern Shore,” said SFC Vice President Cole Lacey. “We look forward to creating a space that not only caters to athletes but also serves the local community and brings people together through the love of sports and recreation.”

Revel has a master’s degree in sports performance training from Concordia University of Chicago and has spent nearly six years developing The Athlete Academy, with two locations in Maryland serving over 1,000 athletes annually. He is a Delaware native who has been in nearby Salisbury, Maryland, since 2015.

“It’s an absolute honor,” Revel said. “My vision has always been to improve the physical and mental capabilities of athletes and to create an environment that fosters growth in all areas of their lives. Stepping into the general manager role at Crown Sports is a natural progression of that vision.”
