USOPC Hires Koby Langley as COO

The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee has appointed Koby Langley as chief operating officer. As COO, he will report directly to USOPC CEO Sarah Hirshland and will relocate to Colorado Springs, starting his new role on November 10.
As COO, Langley will provide operational leadership and oversight across strategic planning, finance, information technology, procurement and facilities management. The USOPC sees his role as pivotal in ensuring that the organization is structurally and operationally equipped for a decade that will see some of the largest sports events headed to the United States, including the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles and the 2034 Games in Salt Lake City.

“Koby brings a rare combination of operational expertise, strategic vision, and mission-driven leadership,” said Hirshland. “From his service in the U.S. Army to his leadership within the American Red Cross, Koby has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to people and purpose. His experience leading complex, high-stakes organizations will be invaluable as we continue building a high-performing, inclusive, and athlete-centered team.”
Langley joins the USOPC after more than a decade with the American Red Cross, where he most recently served as the division vice president leading all humanitarian services in the Northeast Division. He previously served as senior vice president of international services and service to the armed forces. In these roles, he led large-scale operations and workforce engagement across multiple domestic and global regions.

The COO role was previously combined with the general counsel position, which was restructured following the retirement of Chris McCleary. Langley’s appointment coincides with the arrival of William King, who joined the organization as general cCounsel on October 13, 2025.
