The Spanish Men’s National Soccer Team will base itself in Chattanooga, Tennessee during the group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
The FIFA World Cup champions from 2010, reigning European champion and current number one ranked team in the world, Spain will stay at Embassy Suites by Hilton Chattanooga Downtown and use the nearby Baylor School as its training facility.
Last summer, the same high-performance sports facilities were used by New Zealand’s Auckland City FC during the expanded FIFA Club World Cup.
According to the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Chattanooga was selected for its proximity to Atlanta (less than two hours by bus), which is where Spain will play its first two group-stage matches.
The team will begin its quest for a second World Cup title by opening its Group H campaign against tournament debutants Cape Verde in Atlanta on June 15 before returning to the same city six days later to face Saudi Arabia. Their final group-stage game will come against Uruguay in Guadalajara, Mexico on June 27.
The RFEF said it would evaluate base camp options for the latter stages of the tournament depending on Spain’s qualification from its group and where its knockout games would be played.
Confirmed Base Camps to Date
So far, the likes of Germany (Winston-Salem, North Carolina), France (Boston, Massachusetts), Croatia, South Korea and Colombia have also formally confirmed their World Cup base camps. The list of confirmed FIFA World Cup base camps to date can be found here.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup, which has been expanded to 48 teams, will begin with Mexico v South Africa on June 11 on Mexico City, with the final being held on July 19 in New York New Jersey.
