Congress has approved the reauthorization of Brand USA through 2020. The reauthorization bill, which was included in the omnibus spending package, has passed the House and Senate and is heading to President Obama for final approval.
“This is a tremendous victory that goes well beyond the travel economy,” said Roger Dow, president and CEO of the U.S. Travel Association. “It’s a win for America, which gains so many proven benefits from an ever-increasing share of international travel to our shores. It paves the way for Brand USA and its 400-plus partners to continue operating well into the future and delivering more strong results for America.”
Brand USA is a non-profit, public-private partnership dedicated to increasing inbound international travel to the United States. Now in its third year, Brand USA was established by the Travel Promotion Act to spearhead the nation’s first global marketing effort to promote the United States as a premier travel destination.
“Brand USA’s terrific work will continue to move forward as we march toward the national goal of welcoming 100 million travelers to the United States by 2021,” Dow said. “Brand USA, the program that our industry created, works for America and will continue to do so.”
