Confirmed 2026 FIFA World Cup Base Camps

2026 FIFA World Cup base camps are in the process of being confirmed

Posted On: February 27, 2026 By : Paul Stevens

It has been confirmed that 39 national teams will have team base camp training sites in the United States, seven will be in Mexico and two will be based in Canada during the 2026 Men’s FIFA World Cup. Within those figures, 25 communities across Canada, Mexico and the United States that will not host World Cup matches will be welcoming national teams during the tournament.

Following December’s Final Draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, international soccer team officials traveled across the three host countries, while inspecting training facilities and hotels to find the ideal base camps for their respective national teams. The draw, which took place at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., on December 5, decided the lineup of each of the 12 groups, while the match schedule revealed where teams will play and when during the tournament.

It gave each international association/federation one month to assess their base camp options before submitting a list of their top five preferences to FIFA. 42 national teams qualified directly for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with a further six joining them through the international play-off routes in March 2026.

As the first-ever FIFA World Cup to feature 48 National Teams across three host countries and 16 host cities, the base camp selection was unprecedented in its complexity. FIFA assembled a catalog of 64 potential base camps across North America that teams could use, although some federations and associations decided to make their own arrangements due to the unsuitability of certain combinations of hotels and training facilities or locations.

Federations and associations also had to take into consideration their match schedule, distance from the local airport, travel times between training facilities and lodgings, level of privacy, pitch and fitness equipment quality, off-day activities and the ability to accommodate traveling national press when organizing their base camp preferences.
Here at SportsTravel, we have compiled a list of all 48 national teams’ base camp selections below:
